Sweet Indulgences - Love You Honey - Savannah Bee Company

I recently discovered Savannah Bee Company Tupelo honey, which was on my "wish list" until my lovely niece, Jessica, gave it to me as a gift.  I was initially smitten with the beautiful bottle and packaging design, which I'm always a sucker for.  Once I tasted it, I was hooked!

Tupelo honey is a rare honey that is harvested during a two week time period in the Spring.  It has a buttery, sweet flavor that melts on the tongue and it will never crystallize, which is a bonus!

I love drizzling honey on cinnamon raisin English muffins topped with ricotta cheese and sprinkled with cinnamon. Delicious!

Since we're on the topic of honey, I can't help but post an image of another favorite honey label ... love the typography!

Action Expresses Priorities

"Action expresses priorities" - quote from Mohandas Gandhi

This quote by Mohandas Ghandi is one of my very favorite motivators.  Such power in those three words!  When I first saw this quote, it stopped me in my tracks.  Like a lightening bolt had struck, I thought about all the things in my life I am doing that do not support my priorities. In all areas of my life... relationships, home and work.  And what I need to do to change them.  Clarity is a beautiful thing.

What priorities in your life are you not acting upon?

In The Kitchen - Italian Sausage and Cannellini Bean Ramekins

Italian Sausage & Cannellini Bean Ramekins recipe

My husband informed me the other day that he wasn't eating pasta anymore, just as I was making cutlets for dinner and had planned a pasta side dish.  It was a good kick-in-the-pants to play and get creative with what I had in the pantry and I was quite pleased with the result. And, my husband liked it too and declared it was a "make again."  Whew!

Italian Sausage and Cannellini Bean Ramekins

Recipe by Laura Ashman Jolna
Ingredients
  • 1 can cannellini beans (low sodium)
  • 1 Tbsp fresh oregano, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp fresh Italian parsely, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil (I used Tuscan Herb)
  • pinch salt & pepper
  • 2 small zucchini, diced small
  • 1 link mild Italian chicken sausage
  • marinara sauce
  • fresh basil, for garnish
  • parmesan cheese, to finish
Cooking Directions
  1. Roast diced zucchini tossed or sprayed with a little olive oil at 425 degrees for 10-15 min. Crumble sausage and cook in skillet until done.
  2. In cuisinart, blend cannellni beans, oregano, parsley, olive oil, salt & pepper until smooth.
  3. Spray ramekins with olive oil spray. Spoon in layer of bean puree on bottom. Next spoon layer of zucchini on top. Then add sausage and top with marinara sauce.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 min. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and basil and serve.
Buon Appetito!

Color Inspiration - The Flower Mart

One of my favorite places to go is The Flower Mart in downtown Los Angeles.  So much eye candy!  I'm always inspired by the colors as well as the flowers.  Calla Lilies are one of my top favorite flowers and these colors just screamed Spring to me.
Where do you get color inspiration from?

Dog Lovin' - Sittin' Pretty

Dog sitting on dog

Dogs can do such silly, funny things!  Our Jack Russell puppy, Lily, absolutely loves to sit on her big sister Indigo.   We are so lucky that Indigo is tolerant and gentle and just goes with it.  Hard not to laugh out loud when we see it, which happens to be several times a day!

Such joy they bring to our lives every day ... and laughter.  What silly funny things does your dog(s) do?

Happy Dog Lovin'!

Sweet Indulgences - Cappuccino Art

`

I was at a lovely birthday lunch the other day and my girlfriend somehow managed to drink her cappuccino and the heart remained in the bottom of the cup!  She didn’t even notice and was so surprised when I pointed it out.

I love latte art and repin a lot of photos on pinterest. For examples of creative latte art, check out the TripWire Magazine blog post on 35 Insanely Creative Examples of Latte Art. Enjoy!

What delights are you missing today by not taking a moment to observe what’s going on around you?

Attitude of Gratitude

Appreciating every day, whatever it may bring.   Pausing every morning to take a moment to look up at the beautiful sky and the two palm trees swaying in the breeze and give thanks for the countless blessings in my life.  To welcome abundance in my life with open arms.  To acknowledge is to appreciate.
This is how I start my day ... how do you start yours?
